Is it a “Military Coup”?

The media discussion of events in Honduras is remarkably confused. Here’s CNN:

The president of the U.N. General Assembly scheduled a noon session Monday to discuss the situation in Honduras, following a military-led coup that ousted the sitting president.

and

Micheletti, the head of Congress, became president after lawmakers voted by a show of hands to strip Zelaya of his powers, with a resolution stating that Zelaya “provoked confrontations and divisions” within the country.

Leading politicians join Malaysia Think Tank's Cross Party Advisory Group

Kuala Lumpur, 16 Feb 2009: The Malaysia Think Tank today announces the formation of its Cross Party Advisory Group (CPAG) comprising of leading politicians from different political parties. The second WauBebas.org Freedom Academy took place on 16 - 18 January 2009 at Residence Hotel, Selangor. Thirty three bright and inquisitive minds participated, ranging from fresh high school graduates to student activists. A few 'old' faces - alumni from the first Freedom Academy in August 2008 - were also there. I was one of the old faces.

Freedoms and Choices in Education

When we talk about the failings of our education system we are almost always referring to problems with publicly funded education. Some of the most pressing concerns in recent times include how Malaysian children are growing up separately in vernacular schools, how to inject a culture of initiative and inquisitiveness in the delivery of education instead of relying on rote learning in order to pass exams, whether science and maths should be taught in English, whether a university should accept more non-Malay students, or whether a certain Vice Chancellor should be removed.

The Malaysia Think Tank wins international award

The Malaysia Think Tank (MTT) has been announced winner of an international grant from the Atlas Economic Research Foundation to help spread the virtues of entrepreneurship, individual initiative, wealth generation, and prosperity through promoting Ayn Rand's influential novel, Atlas Shrugged.
